We go out of our way to ensure that you get the wonderful shots you're looking for and have an enjoyable time doing it. We will have you in great locations for the best light of the day; not just for the iconic shots but for those special 'hidden gems' that you won't find in any tour book. Our trips are all restricted to small groups to ensure that everyone is able to get as much individual instruction and assistance as required. This leads to some great stories around the dinner table, where we pick up tips and tricks from one another, while hearing about 'the one that got away'.
All of our workshops at Oz are led by Alan Barker, who has 30 years in education, both in and out of photography, and has worked with the young, 'not so young' and the young at heart. Alan has a calm, easy-going way of working with clients and a knack for explaining complex topics in simple terms.
While we see many Australian photographers on our workshops, Oz Photo Workshops has had the pleasure to partner with a number of international companies and photographers. Through these partnerships we have provided scouting and logistics, along with guiding and assistance through the trip. These companies include:

This company is spear-headed by renowned New Zealand photographer, Phillip Bartlett, who pioneered the concept of photography workshops in New Zealand back in 2005. Phillip is now running workshops all throughout New Zealand, as well as parts of Asia.

Alan Barker, a renowned full time professional photographer, and the driving force behind Oz Photo Workshops provides a full range of photography services, but his real passion is running photography workshops in some of the planets most iconic locations, visiting stunning landscapes and observing majestic wildlife.
Close to home here in Australia, Alan runs photography tours to outback Australia, the Great Ocean Road, Tasmania and New Zealand but for those who wish to experience something a little more exotic further afield, photography tours to private game reserves in Africa and South Africa are also offered.
Participating in an African photography safari with Alan can truly be described as a once in a lifetime experience; the Chobe River and Okavango Delta, famous for its abundant and diverse wildlife and ecosystem presents opportunities to photograph incredible vistas populated by large numbers of birds, elephants and buffalo amongst many other native species.
