THIS IS WHERE OZ PHOTO WORKSHOPS STEP IN

Regardless of whether you treat yourself to a photography workshop multiple times a year, once a year or maybe see it as a 'once in a lifetime experience'; you want to have a great time, capture some amazing images and improve your photography skills.

We go out of our way to ensure that you get the wonderful shots you're looking for and have an enjoyable time doing it. We will have you in great locations for the best light of the day; not just for the iconic shots but for those special 'hidden gems' that you won't find in any tour book. Our trips are all restricted to small groups to ensure that everyone is able to get as much individual instruction and assistance as required. This leads to some great stories around the dinner table, where we pick up tips and tricks from one another, while hearing about 'the one that got away'.

All of our workshops at Oz are led by Alan Barker, who has 30 years in education, both in and out of photography, and has worked with the young, 'not so young' and the young at heart. Alan has a calm, easy-going way of working with clients and a knack for explaining complex topics in simple terms.

While we see many Australian photographers on our workshops, Oz Photo Workshops has had the pleasure to partner with a number of international companies and photographers. Through these partnerships we have provided scouting and logistics, along with guiding and assistance through the trip. These companies include:

Alan Barker, a renowned full time professional photographer, and the driving force behind Oz Photo Workshops provides a full range of photography services, but his real passion is running photography workshops in some of the planets most iconic locations, visiting stunning landscapes and observing majestic wildlife.

Close to home here in Australia, Alan runs photography tours to outback Australia, the Great Ocean Road, Tasmania and New Zealand but for those who wish to experience something a little more exotic further afield, photography tours to private game reserves in Africa and South Africa are also offered.

Participating in an African photography safari with Alan can truly be described as a once in a lifetime experience; the Chobe River and Okavango Delta, famous for its abundant and diverse wildlife and ecosystem presents opportunities to photograph incredible vistas populated by large numbers of birds, elephants and buffalo amongst many other native species.

However, Oz Photo Workshops are not just for experienced photographers, all of their photography workshops whether to Great Ocean Road, Outback Australia or the Chobe River safari are open to photographers (and their partners) with all levels of experience. One of the features of these tours that makes Oz Photo Workshops so attractive is the limit of 6 people per tour. Not only does this ensure the development of great camaraderie and rapport within the group, but allows everyone to have significant time enjoying some one to one tuition and tutorship in the sublime art of photography, facilitating the capture of images that will evoke wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

To further enhance your enjoyment, Alan and his team take care of all the logistical side of your trip – the only real thing that you have to be concerned about is making sure that you bring your own photography equipment! Within the clear itinerary presented to you, you will see that all transport, accommodation, park fees and meals are included, with a guarantee of no unexpected costs further down the line, and Oz Photo Workshops ensure that the very best deals are secured for all of their clients. Accommodation and food will be of a high standard, and meal times are a great opportunity to share your experiences, offer and take advice from each other – many life-long friendships have been forged in these circumstances!

The real focus of photography workshops to New Zealand, Africa, South Africa and Australia is to capture superb images, and a flexible and adaptable approach is often called for, reacting to changing conditions in light and weather and taking full advantage of the nomadic nature of the wildlife, and with Alan’s experience you can be sure of being presented with the very best opportunities to do so. Whether on an incredible Botswana photography safari or taking in the magnificence of the 240km of the Great Ocean Road featuring the 12 Apostles and Bells Beach, you are sure to have a fun, enjoyable experience – and just as many photographs as you care to take under the expert guidance of Oz Photo Workshops.

It is often said that ‘memories can last a life time’, but photographs are a tangible reminder of magical moments when in reality memories become blurred or start to fade – and who doesn’t like to take photographs that can be shared with friends and family?

Oz Photo Workshops present wonderful opportunities to practice and enhance your photography skills in some truly remarkable settings by running a series of photography workshops close to home on the Great Ocean Road and Tasmania, as well as photography workshops in South Africa and New Zealand. Restricted to small groups in which life time friendships are often forged, the photography tours around Australia, New Zealand and the Chobe River safari in Africa facilitate plenty of time for personal tuition from Alan, the highly experienced photographer who is the leader of the tours.

Flexibility within the scheduled itinerary is fundamental to the success of Alan’s tours and photography workshops whether here in Australia or in Africa; taking advantage of conditions that can enhance your photography or that present you with once in a life time chance to see big game whilst on a Botswana photography safari is second nature to Alan.

If you are considering an African photography safari and are looking for photography tours to private game reserves in Africa where all logistics are expertly taken care of on your behalf, or perfectly organised photography tours closer to home on the Great Ocean Road or Tasmania, Oz Photo Workshops have the experience and commitment to help make your dreams come true.
